Growing up in a family of artists on the Jersey Shore, I spent many weekends hauling large oil painting canvases to art shows where my mother often was awarded a blue ribbon.
Our Victorian home nicknamed 'Wuthering Sands' was frequently inhabited by painters, sculptors, designers, photographers, and musicians. The vernacular that echoed through the halls included words like "perspective, composition, symmetry, light and shadow, and burnt sienna."
My Copywriting Journey
After leaving the nest, I moved to New York City for an exciting seven-year career as a hairstylist before enrolling in college to pursue my love of design and writing. I took classes at the School of Visual of Arts, earned a Bachelor of Art in English from UCLA, where I also worked as an arts and entertainment reporter for the Daily Bruin. Later, I received a Master’s Degree.
But frankly, my real education began when I dove into the world of advertising copywriting, where I learned proven writing strategies such as storytelling and effective headline strategies under some of the most talented pros in the industry.
Think Mad Men creatives without the extramarital affairs and liquid lunches, though, they did throw some great parties.
As a staff copywriter, I wrote for many travel brands, including
Princess Cruises and Cunard Line.
Interior Design Experience
After making the switch to a business owner in 2009, I dove into the world of content marketing and decided to specialize in my passions: interior design and home. I supported interior designers and home industry publications in marketing and editorial. I've covered interior design and home for leading brands such as Forbes Home, Apartment Therapy, HomeLight, Shelfology, Family Handyman as well as growing designers and brands.

With an inbound marketing certificate under my belt and knowledge of SEO best practices and digital marketing, today I help interior designers and home industry professionals, including real estate level up their messaging strategy from the convenience of my home office. That's the beauty of the digital landscape. When I'm not writing, I spend time reading design publications, articles and books, playing with my feline, Hazel and exploring new places with friends and family.
